A distinctive, mildly spicy stew.
A perfect blend of flavors makes this spicy stew distinctive. Adding bacon gives it a delicious smoky taste. This GLUTEN-FREE soup is sure to become a family favorite!
Instructions:
Rinse beans thoroughly and soak in plenty of water overnight.* Drain and rinse again.
* Time saving Tip: Rinse beans, cover in 2 qts. of water and bring to a boil for 10 minutes. Cover and let stand for 1-2 hours, drain and rinse again.
Place in crockpot or slow cooker:
Bean Patch bean mix
contents of spice packet
1-2 quarts of water
14 oz can of Tomato Sauce or V-8 Juice
1 lb. ground beef, cooked
¼ lb. diced bacon, cooked
Cook 6-8 hours on high.
OR
Combine above ingredients in a 3 qt. pot, bring to boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 2-4 hours or until tender.
Add salt to taste at the end of cooking.
Serve with a salad and biscuits for a simple but wholesome meal.
