A wonderful Italian flavor makes this soup deliciously different from other black bean soups.

Instructions
Rinse beans thoroughly and soak in plenty of water overnight.* Drain and rinse again.
* Time saving Tip: Rinse beans, cover in 2 qts. of water and bring to a boil for 10 minutes. Cover and let stand for 1-2 hours, drain and rinse again.
Place in crockpot or slow cooker:
Black Beans Supreme mix
contents of spice packet
2 quarts of water
14 1/2 oz can of stewed tomatoes
1 lb. of cooked sweet or hot Italian sausage
Cook 6-8 hours on high.
OR
Combine above ingredients in a 3 qt. pot, bring to boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 2-4 hours or until tender.
Add salt to taste at the end of cooking.
Serve with a salad and Italian bread for a simple but wholesome meal.
